How and where can I use fonts?

All fonts on FontMagic are available as free download. However, about 90% (rough guess) would be totally free for personal use. A few fonts would be shareware and some might require a little compensation to the author if you put the fonts to commercial use. These details can be found in the instructions file (generally called readme or equivalent) packed along with the fonts in the compressed zip file.

You can use fonts in any software you like such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, graphic editors, illustration programs and others. Designers working on popular graphics software like PhotoShop, Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw etc. can include fonts in their creations. In fact, you can create interesting effects in PhotoShop, for instance, with these fonts.

Here is a rough and dirty list of where all you can use the fonts.

• Brochures
• Illustrations
• Presentations
• Documents
• Invitations and greeting cards
• Web sites (as images or graphics; refer the paragraph below)
• Flash movies - standalone or on web sites

So if you wnt to create a greeting card or an invitation using a particular software, the fonts you download from this web site would be available to that program once you install them correctly.

Using fonts on web sites

Fonts can also be used on web sites. However, they would be visible to the surfers only if they have the same font installed on their systems, which, as you can understand, will not always be the case. So I suggest that you create images/graphics of the fonts are then put them on the web page. This way it's guaranteed that all visitors to your web site will have the same display.
